A true visionary in the hairdressing industry, David Cheung is the founder and creative force behind Margidavid Salon. His journey in hairdressing began in 1983 after completing beauty school, and he quickly realized that he wanted to deepen his knowledge and skills in the craft. David’s unwavering commitment to education led him to collaborate with TONI&GUY, where he served as an ambassador education director for 8 years. On stage and behind the chair, he generously shared his expertise with fellow hairdressers.

In 1989, David and his wife Margi elevated their passion for hairdressing and education by establishing Margidavid Salon. Their vision was simple yet profound: to create a nurturing space where hair designers could thrive and hone their skills. Over the years, Margidavid Salon has been a breeding ground for successful salon owners, including &Blonde Salon, LoveJune Salon, and Tonic Salon.

David’s influence extends far beyond the salon walls. As a designer, he has lent his creativity to numerous projects for Living Proof. Notably, he worked on-site during the Giorgio Armani Fall Collection Runway Show in Milan and collaborated with Bumble & Bumble as a product collaborator. Additionally, David served as a global guest educator for Wella, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

In 2012, Seattle Met Magazine recognized David as one of the city’s leading salon owners—a testament to his dedication and impact. His 34-year journey in hairdressing continues to inspire others, fueled by creativity, talent, and an unwavering commitment to the craft.
